The first chest displayed was made using Photoshop.
First was making the metal which was done using multiple effects and cloud diffuse feature that gives it that bumpy texture.
Then I added that to my chest outline and continued with the seam of the chest, I made multiple cuts that would go down the middle of the chest to give it a groovy texture.
The wood in the middle was made next as the chest needed a middle texture that would tie it together. This was made using the grain and wave effect in photoshop.
The second chest displayed was taking the base photoshop texture and making changes using Substance Alchemist.
I wanted to aim for a more realistic chest that you would see in a dungeon, the bump was made higher to make the metal appear rougher, giving it a crisp final result. I have added these materials into my pipeline of future projects
